During the weekend of September 20-23, 2019, The International Conference on Biomechanics and Medical Engineering with support from Tech Science Press and its Journal, Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, honored Dr. Fung on the occasion of his 100th Birthday. Dr. Shu Chien was the Honorary Chair of the meeting. The meeting was attended by several alumni including Dr. Woo, Deidre MacKenna and Karen May-Newman.
The program consisted of 13 sessions and 13 Plenary Lectures given by renowned professors, such as Dr. Woo, Shu Liu, Geert Schmid-Schonbein, Yingxin Qi, Jay Humphrey, etc.
A birthday celebration reception on the campus of the University of California, San Diego was the highlight of the conference. Many participants had the opportunity to present gifts and personally extend wishes to Dr. Fung on this milestone event.
