Ms. Linda Kitabayashi (OBL/UCSC) is an Electron Microscopy Technologist and Histologic Technician whose work has made its way to become works of art.

An image she created with an experiment to double label new brain cells was created into a pin by the National Institute of Health/National Institute of Aging and presented to attendees of the Society of Neuroscience.

More recently, an image she helped to create was submitted to the MBFBioscience for their monthly NeuroArt contents. She put together hundreds of scanned image files from a confocal microscope. The end result looked like the hippocampus, which is the Greek translation of seahorse. While it did not win, it was chosen for their 2018 calendar and desktop wallpaper. It can be downloaded here.
