The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh has honored Dr. Woo with the establishment of the Savio L-Y. Woo Distinguished Lectureship. The inaugural lecture was given by Dr. Jay Humphrey on November 11-12, 2021.
Dr. Humphrey is the John C Malone Professor and Chair of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University. His distinguished lecture was entitled “Mechanical Homeostasis in Aortic Health and Disease”. The lecture was attended in-person by many faculty and students as well as over 75 virtual attendees.
Dr. Humphrey had many kind words to say about his admiration for Dr. Woo, the community of Pitt Bioengineering and the hospitality of the faculty, staff and students.
