We’re happy to share that Dr. Jeff Weiss and his collaborators from the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute (SCI)  have earned the prestigious 2025 Richard Skalak Award and Editor’s Choice recognition from the Journal of Biomechanical Engineering. This annual honor presented by ASME recognizes the most outstanding paper published in the journal during the prior year.

The award-winning research highlights the groundbreaking work being done with the FEBio software project, developed by Jeff’s lab and his colleagues at the University of Utah. FEBio is a leading open-source tool for modeling and simulation in biomechanics.

Congratulations to Jeff Weiss and the entire FEBio team on this well‑deserved recognition!
