We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Dr. Matt Fisher has been promoted to Full Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Matt began his journey in bioengineering as a graduate student in 2005 in the MSRC at the University of Pittsburgh. After earning his Ph.D. in 2010, he completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He joined NC State as an Assistant Professor in 2014 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. Matt is the Director of the Translational Orthopaedic Research Laboratory, where his research focuses on musculoskeletal soft tissues, which play a central role in guiding and stabilizing human joints during movement. His research integrates biomechanics, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine to better understand these tissues and develop therapies for injuries. His areas of interest include biomechanics during skeletal growth, bioscaffold fabrication, computational models, and animal models.
Please join us in congratulating Matt on tis well-deserved achievement!
