Zong-Ming Li We are proud to share that Dr. Zong-Ming Li has been elected as a Fellow of the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB), one of the most prestigious honors in the field, recognizing leaders who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to biomechanics research and education around the world.

Dr. Li currently serves as the William and Sylvia Rubin Chair of Orthopedic Research and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Biomedical Engineering, and the BIO5 Institute at the University of Arizona. With more than 35 years of pioneering research in musculoskeletal biomechanics, particularly in hand function and motor control, Dr. Li’s work has not only advanced scientific understanding but also informed clinical applications that improve patient outcomes.

In response to the announcement, Dr. Li shared:

“I am honored to be elected as a Fellow of the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB). The ISB has played a central role in shaping our field and advancing global development in our biomechanics community. I am grateful to be recognized among such distinguished colleagues.”

This recognition adds to Dr. Li’s remarkable list of honors. He is a Fellow of several leading scientific and engineering organizations, including AAIA, AIMBE, ASB, ASME, IAMBE, ICORS, IEEE, and ORS, and is the recipient of the ASME Savio L-Y. Woo Translational Biomechanics Medal.
