Dr. Steven Abramowitch and TRLU Team Win ASME Grood Interdisciplinary Medal

Congratulations to alumnus Dr. Steven Abramowitch and the Translational Research Laboratories in Urogynecology (TRLU) team on receiving the 2026 ASME Edward Grood Interdisciplinary Team Science Medal.

This prestigious award was established to recognize teams of scientists and engineers who have collaboratively carried out impactful research in bioengineering.This prestigious national award recognizes Dr. Abramowitch and his collaborator Dr. Pamela Moalli for their impactful work at the intersection of bioengineering and women’s health.

The Edward Grood Interdisciplinary Team Science Medal was established in 2022 by the ASME Bioengineering Division. It is a prestigious national honor that specifically recognizes teams of scientists and engineers who work together to produce impactful, transformative research in the field of bioengineering.  

Dr. Abramowitch is currently a Professor of Bioengineering in the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh.
